چکیده

advanced during the period of the last one hundred years. They center around the receptor and its relation with the odorant molecule. A classification of the theories is presented and the information approach to olfaction is discussed. The measurement of odors and odor identification has a very practical application in industry and since there is yet no universal odor unit, measurement has been difficult. Specifications for ventilating installations, however, can use the dilution-threshold method. Part IV takes up the experimental studies in odor which comprise a very small portion of the book. Only three articles are included, and it would seem from their perusal that further experimental work might interest those in the field of experimental psychology. Normal and neurotic monkeys lend themselves to observations of olfactory behavior and insects respond to a chemoreceptive process in controlled environments. We are often aware of unpleasant odors, and nature has provided us with a large variety. Possibly we have not been aware of the basic odor research which has been going on, largely because the environment in which we find ourselves so frequently is not unpleasant for the reason that the odor engineers have anticipated our olfactory likes and dislikes.

In vivo Effects of CdSe Injection on Embryonic Development of Reproductive System

The use of quantum dots (QDots) as bright and photostable probes for long-term fluorescence imaging is gaining more interest. Thus far, (pre)clinical use of QDots remains limited, which is primarily caused by the potential toxicity of QDots. Most QDots consist of Cd2+ ions, which are known to cause high levels of toxicity. Therefore, the cytotoxic effects of CdSe quantum dots on embryonic devel...

Studies on incidence and pathology of neoplasms of reproductive system of cull laying

This study was performed to determine the incidence and anatomo-pathological aspects of the reproductive system tumors in commercial laying hens. Post mortem examination of 1041 laying hens revealed neoplasms of the ovaries and the oviduct in 52 (4.99%) cases. From these, ovarian adenocarcinoma was found in 14 cases, granulosa cell tumor in 7 cases, theca cell tumor in 1 case and Marek's dise...

Pnm-9: Association between Air Pollution and Reproductive System Functions

Background The highly sensitive period of preimplantation development represents that embryo is very vulnerable to exogenous agents. Many of the developmental abnormalities may arise from the inevitable maternal periconceptional exposures to toxic substances in the environment which may threaten reproductive capability and pregnancy outcomes. In this article, an overview of the association betw...
